YOU have the power to choose!
Do the following statements sound true to you: That's just the way I am! I have always done things this way! I can't help it! That's the way I was raised! Well, if those statements aren't getting you the desired results you have always wanted, something needs to change...and that something is YOU! We have to realize that our minds hold all of the power! If we have a negative thinking process, then we will always get negative results. One can even get good results, but because their minds may be negative, to them it was still a negative result. What we all must realize is that we possess the power to Think Positive! Mr. Parker has given us the tools it takes to think and behave like a CEO and Positive Thinking is one of the fundamental elements of becoming the CEO of your life and your business. So, from now on, we can no longer use our negative past experiences to hinder us from future results; rather, we must overcome all negativity and become Positive Thinkers. Remember this equation: Positive Thinking + Positive Feelings + Positive Decisions = Positive Results.

OOOOH, This was another great one.
I used to say things like that to myself all the time Terry. I said things like, "I can't help it", "It's my personality", "It's they way I was raised" and that "I just march to my own beat"...
You see, I was passive aggressive. I acted like I was for everything but then inside I really was not.
I normally was not negative in my appearance but rather in my inside attitude. Inside I was very negative in thoughts and that affected my behavior and my actions.
In my positivity of face, I was way too extreme for others. I would be obnixously loud and make comments all the time off the cuff.
This was "my" negative thinking: I would say, "I just can't help my behavior" but I could. I have, thanks to this training and a great team learned to re train myself and it is more professional.
I still have my personality - (I am not a Stepford Employee (ha ha ha) but I respect the wishes of my team to act more professional and at times that means more sober.
How I did it? It was like fasting from being loud. I purposed in my mind to be quiet and control the thoughts that flooded my head. When I wanted to shout out some flip comment - I bit my tongue.
Now, its a habit and I feel better about the new me and not embarrassing my co workers. I feel more controlled and I like that power over my own will.
Anyway, I hope this helps someone as I have been helped by Terry's post.
Again, I loved this post Terry, excellent food for thought. Super Duper Great Job (that was the old me) ha ha ha.
Juls.
This is great food for thought. I am beginning to realize that I am negative thinker. “That's just the way I am! I have always done things this way! I can't help it! That's the way I was raised!” That’s me in a nut shell. I never considered that even when I do get positive results I rob myself of that because I still have a negative frame of mind therefore turning the positive into a negative. I always thought of myself as a positive individual but now I have to reconsider. I want to become a positive thinker. I am tired of the results I’ve been getting and now I can see why I’ve been getting them. It’s HOW I THINK!!! I am still looking at personal awareness and learning where some of these negative patters of thought come from. Now I want to start changing them. The best thing is, I can see now that WE CAN CHANGE! It’s just a thought away!
Hi Terry:
These CD and Workbook assignments are awesome.
I always thought I was a positive thinker. I never imagined how much negative thought patterns can ruin your thought process. Especially, when you think you are thinking positively and all that is coming out is negative thought patterns that hinder yhou from moving forward.
I see that fear, jealousy, envy can take a toll on your life. I am going to change my thought process. Self-awareness of why we do things is so important. I look forward to more blogs with the CEO Club.
